A Bit About Me……

The creative process is balance and exploration for me. I love the line of forms and the textures and patterns that are part of natural objects and the human form.
I create in 3 mediums:
canvas, casting & clay.
In my canvas paintings I look at patterns, textures and the colors of the world around me. The part of my world that offers curiosity and imagination.
With my lifecasting I look at the lines of the human form I use alginate on the body to create a composition that is a moment stopped in time .
Working with clay I focus on utilitarian forms- mugs, bowls plates, but in an individual and unique way. Each piece finding a connection , to be felt when used.
May you enjoy the voice that each process reflects.

Growing up in the artistic town of Ojai, California, my favorite sanctuary was my closet. I had my paints, my erasers and my pencils. Among my clothes, I created. I was mesmerized.

In college I studied illustration in Ventura, California, transferring my higher education to southern Oregon,  to the teaching of Art.  My inspiration until I retired, was my high school students, exciting them about creating and connecting them to the visual image.

Lately I have immensely enjoyed the exploration and expanding of my own artwork. Taking the inspirations from my travels from the ocean, to the deserts, to the mountains.
